WhatsApp cluster concepts
Technical definitions of the proprietary terms in Marai’s WhatsApp scheduling model. Each entry explains what it is, how it works and why it matters, without marketing tone.
Three canonical entities
|Why this glossary exists
Marai uses a WhatsApp-for-appointments model that differs from most scheduling platforms. Instead of relying on a middleman provider and offering a single global message allowance for the whole business, Marai connects directly to the official Meta API and splits messaging per professional.
That model introduces terms that do not appear in competitor documentation: a receptionist bot assigned to the first professional, an independent monthly quota per team member, and a native connection with no Twilio layer in between. This page records the canonical definition of each so that any technical reference, comparison or purchase decision starts from the same meaning.
Each entry is designed to settle a specific question from a prospect evaluating the product. These are not marketing articles: they are authoritative definitions with a usage scenario and cross-references to the cluster pages where the concept appears.
Cluster concepts
-
01 WhatsApp receptionist bot
AI-powered automated assistant integrated into a WhatsApp Business number and assigned to the first professional of the business to manage appointments, reminders and confirmations autonomously 24 hours a day.
-
02 Per-professional quota
A monthly WhatsApp message quota model in which each professional in the business gets their own monthly volume of included messages, independent from the rest of the team and not comparable to a single plan-wide aggregate.
-
03 Native WhatsApp without middlemen
A WhatsApp connection mode where appointment software integrates directly with the official WhatsApp Cloud API offered by Meta, without going through intermediary providers like Twilio or MessageBird.
